Home made pizza

12 Apr

I recently bought a pizza stone from a homeware store and it has inspired me to make my own pizza. Jason LuRRves pizza and ever since we started making homemade pizza, he is convinced that he must have been a world famous Italian Pizza chef in his past life. Home made pizza tastes really good. And it’s theraputic as well. I love feeling the soft warm dough around my fingers when I knead the dough. I use the recipe from one of my favorite food blogs http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/001199.html. It does take a bit of time to make so if you have a bread maker, you could put the all the ingredients in the breadmaker and lets the machine do the kneading. This is a really convenient and easy way to make pizza dough, not to mention, there’s very little mess involved.

Makes around 6 pizzas

  • 1 Basic Pizza Dough Recipe from http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/001199.html

  • Prosciutto
  • Mushrooms
  • Olives
  • Red Onions & Garlic (chopped)
  • Goat’s Fetta/Buffolo Mozzarella
  • Rocket Leaves
  • Basil Leaves
  • Or any of your favorite toppings

  1. Crank your oven all the way up to the maximum temperature (Mine does up to 250 degree Celcius).
  2. Make the pizza dough.
  3. Spread the dough on the pizza stone and make sure to sprinkle a little flour on the base.
  4. Squirt some tomato paste on the pizza dough and spread evenly with a spoon.
  5. Add the toppings (leaving the Basil and Rocket till after the pizza is cooked).
  6. Remember less means more (Try to stick to 3 or 4 toppings per pizza).
